A Rage…

I have held the raging beast,
With its horns,
My arms aflame,
With raging agony.

Just hold on for a moment awhile,
I smell the victory,
With the rising sun,
In all its glory.

Arms blooded,
The task herculean,
Muscles torn,
Misery yet unborn.

The wispy promise of victory yet,
The drunk revelry of success.
Against all odds,
Life flourishes.

I throw all my rage and emotion,
Hideous beast my soul’s creation.
Beloved, deadly – a dangerous combination.
A beauty, a siren, a nymph, a tease.

At The End Of The Road…

Tired old husk,
A solemn soft dusk,
The closing of a chapter
At the end of a laughter.

The ceasing of the tide,
The last joy ride.
A life lived enough
X times easy, x times tough.

Some actions good and bad,
Of moments dark and sad.
One last fallacy
A yearning for normalcy.

A lingering trace of presence,
An affirmation of existence,
The comfort of a loving hug,
On the heartstrings, an insistent tug.

A leaf pressed between the pages,
A memory mellowed with ages,
A smile, a step, a hushed silence,
A last glance lit up with radiance.

Sultry Summer…

Sultry summer,
You make me sweat,
You make me yearn,
For the coolness of rain.

Sultry summer,
The haze is in the air,
The heat everywhere,
Red dust arises.

Sultry summer,
You renew the world,
An end of the old life,
You usher in a new one.

Sultry summer,
You take away the tiredness of the year,
You give birth to new dreams,
New hopes you bring at the end of May.

Sultry summer,
I always hated your show,
Heat, dirt, dust and flies,
Always cursed for you to go!

Sultry summer,
But now I know,
You sustain the life,
From the word go!

An Evensong…

images (45)

The sun goes down,
The stars peep out,
Ocean waves get high,
The moon calls by.

The breeze cools down,
All mellow sounds now,
Twinkling lights crop up,
In the distance!

The birds fly away,
To their well-earned rest,
Crickets and cicadas,
Join in the fest.

Night flowers bloom,
Fade away the gloom,
The moths by candle-light,
Dance in soft delight.

“All the day beings,
Settle in their nests.
Ye tired feet,
It’s time for some rest!”

“Now come back home,
Lay down your concerns,
By the warmth of the hearth,
Tarry your tired bones.”

“In the coze of the dark,
Dream away the night.
In the arms of your beloved
Greet the dawn of the light!”

There’s a yearning
In my soul,
What I wait for
I don’t know.

Yearn for methinks,
The bygone days,
The simple joys,
The simple faith.

The promise of rains,
The darkened skies,
The swaying trees,
The hazy lanes.

The parched earth,
The thirsty birds,
The lazy bees,
The tired men.

From my window,
I see it all,
Awaiting breathless
For first rainfall.

“There you come,
With silent steps,
Or a fanfare mighty,
With torrents of rain!

You sing melodies,
On my rooftop.
I listen and breathe
Your enchanted songs!”

The whole world
Dances, rejoices,
Bathes and cleanses,
In your waters purifies!

From my window,
I see it all,
Am born anew,
Body, mind & soul.

I laugh, I twirl,
I sing, I swirl.
I tread lightly
On dusky clouds!

I shout out loud,
Throw away the shroud,
I learn the beauty,
Of the truly alive!

A Celebration of Life…

Walking in the shadows am I,
Looking for a place to stop by,
A place I would call my own,
Among lovely beeches and rowans.

Here I could hear
Merry songs of the brook,
Willy wildflowers dancing,
The cawing of the rook,
The chirping of birds,
The baaing of sheep,
Blending in harmony,
A symphony of peace.

Here would I stay,
‘Til the next journey beckons,
To unseen lands,
Through siren songs.
Here would I tarry,
A stolen moment so right,
From within and without
A celebration of life!
