On My Way…

On my way
Of this life
I feel wonder
I feel strife

I daily question
The nature of it
Then laugh again
In the next bit.

What is it
That makes up this life?
Is it the small joys
Or the pain that’s rife?

The souls I meet
In this journey
Are they mates?
Or competitiors in some tourney?

What is life?
I daily wonder
The smile of innocent
Or the wicked’s plunder?

To comprehend I try
I struggle and struggle
But in the end
Is it worth the trouble?

Life is made of
Such paradoxes
Births and Deaths
Concaves and Convexes

I daily question
The nature of it
Then laugh again
In the next bit.

And then I think
What would I do?
If I knew it all
Pain and pleasure too.

It’s better to leave
Some mystery to life
Brighter is the world then
Lessens the pain and strife.

I no more question
The nature of it
Just laugh again
Now and in the next bit.

Time…

It’s time to rest, little heart, little heart

It’s time to slumber, little birdie.

Rest your tired feet

On my soothing shoulder

Tarry awhile and meet

All the gentle souls of this old house.

What makes you wary, little heart?

What keeps you awake, little birdie?

Is it the crumbling walls of this house?

Or is it the sense of a deep darkness within unroused?

Do not worry, dear little heart!

Do not worry, dear little birdie!

The darkness hurts only those

Who have malicious intent in their hearts

Not those with pure hearts to keep their part.

Now fly away, little heart, little heart

Go away, little birdie

The storm is past, little heart, little heart

The weight is lost, little birdie.

It’s time to rest, little heart, little heart

It’s time to slumber, little birdie.

All Them Memories…

Do not say it to me
Let me just feel
No don’t say a word
Let me just heal.

Soak in the warmth
Of your strong arms
Put my head in
Your hands and just calm.

Life is so beautiful
Today that you’re here again
I want to race the winds
Sing in the dancing rain.

Now the time has come
To say the goodbye
You are going away
No salty tears no cry.

One day I’ll go
Wither upon the vine
Memories fade away
Those once glowed and shine.

Memories Befoul…

Death

I have lost something today
Lost something important
A piece of my heart
A fragment of my soul
All memories befoul.

In the dead waters
In the dark cesspool
Of blood and bones
Of glory and gore
Have I lost
A piece of my heart
A fragment of my soul.

In the back alleyways
In the stagnating gutters
Among the rotting garbage
Of the yester and yore
Have I lost
A piece of my heart
A fragment of my soul
All memories befoul.

Now the death bell tolls
The death bed is made
All I need to do
Is lie down to sleep
A soft sigh escapes.

A silent step I hear
It gently comes near
Spreads its hand
Lovingly embraces me
My soul it keeps.

The Watcher…

Eye

The watcher inside me
The one beyond sight
See and see and see
No malice yet might

It keeps sentry
Day or night
No end, no entry
No dark, no light

One day I’ll be one with it
One day I’ll see all that it sees
One day I’ll watch all that rises does fall
One day I’ll feel all alive does die
One day I’ll sense all dead beings rising
One day I’ll whisper the key to living
One day I’ll teach the one language to all!

A Rage…

image

I have held the raging beast,
With its horns,
My arms aflame,
With raging agony.

Just hold on for a moment awhile,
I smell the victory,
With the rising sun,
In all its glory.

Arms blooded,
The task herculean,
Muscles torn,
Misery yet unborn.

The wispy promise of victory yet,
The drunk revelry of success.
Against all odds,
Life flourishes.

I throw all my rage and emotion,
Hideous beast my soul’s creation.
Beloved, deadly – a dangerous combination.
A beauty, a siren, a nymph, a tease.

At The End Of The Road…

image

Tired old husk,
A solemn soft dusk,
The closing of a chapter
At the end of a laughter.

The ceasing of the tide,
The last joy ride.
A life lived enough
X times easy, x times tough.

Some actions good and bad,
Of moments dark and sad.
One last fallacy
A yearning for normalcy.

A lingering trace of presence,
An affirmation of existence,
The comfort of a loving hug,
On the heartstrings, an insistent tug.

A leaf pressed between the pages,
A memory mellowed with ages,
A smile, a step, a hushed silence,
A last glance lit up with radiance.
